Architectural Technician

Two-year Associate Degree program

About the Program

The architectural area is broad and challenging. It is the purpose of the architect and/or consulting engineer to supply owners with a set of plans and specifications of the structure desired. The architectural technician assists the architect or engineer in the development of plans and specifications, and checks on building erections and alterations. The COMPASS or equivalent assessment test is required for placement in math and English.

Program outcomes state what a graduate needs to be able to do with the essential knowledge, attitudes, skills, and behaviors acquired in a specific MATC program. The program outcomes communicate expectations to students, as well as other academic institutions and potential employers. The identification and assessment of program outcomes support MATC's efforts in documenting student learning and provide a context for the faculty's academic planning.

Interested in a Bachelor's Degree?

In addition to the two-year Associate Degree, a program-to-program articulation agreement has been developed for transfer into the Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies (BSAS) at UW-Milwaukee.
