Corey Wimmer

Graphic Design & Illustration

Hey, I'm Corey! I enjoy designing everything from colorful and bubbly to bold and intense. When I took my first graphic design class, I immediately fell in love with how creative and freeing it felt. My design interests are typography, branding, advertising, and motion design. I strive to create unique work while exploring various styles. Beyond design, you'll find me crocheting, writing, baking, illustrating, and taking care of my plants.

Save the Monarchs Campaign

I wanted to grab the viewer’s attention with bold, striking visuals to raise awareness about our endangered monarch butterflies. The intense orange color, dots, and textures are carried throughout the three posters, pamphlet, and seed packet to create a cohesive campaign for the Wisconsin Monarch Collaborative.

Lost Title Sequence

Crashed planes, mysterious islands, strange numbers— I wanted to capture all the iconic elements from Lost in my title sequence. I used textures to create depth, edited real objects from the show, and timed my animation with compelling music to set the scene. My goal was to evoke a feeling of suspense and to immerse the viewer in another world for 73 seconds. If you look closely, you’ll notice some easter eggs from the show hidden in some of the elements.

A Healthy Hobby Ad Series

I wanted to convey the idea that crocheting is healthy for your mind and body, just like eating fruits and vegetables. For this ad series, I crocheted a carrot, strawberry, and banana that I photographed with fruit and vegetable slices. The tail from each crocheted piece leads to the color of yarn that I used. I also used those colors in the typography and the tints in the background.

Illustration & Screen Printing

This is a compilation of my various illustration and screen printing projects. One of my favorite sayings is "Grow as You Go" so I wanted to create something that reflected that for my screen-printed shirt. I also screen-printed the All-You-Can-Eat Ant Buffet event poster with three colors (3 screens). The other illustrations were drawn digitally, and The Moon card was created using a laser cutter machine.

Cosmic Delights Responsive Website

Cosmic Delights represents light, power, and authenticity. My goal for this project was to reflect the personality of the business through strong visuals. I tied the design back to the idea of “illuminating your path,” by contrasting colorful gradients against the dark background. I added delicate illustrations throughout the website to balance the contrast and add an element of friendliness. I also created a new logo that captures the feel of the brand.
